European Retail Property School 2014 scholarships
ESCT announce 21 scholarships to the 2014 ICSC European Retail Property School. Congratulations to the selected applicants:

The German Council of Shopping Centers (GCSC) sponsored 6 students within the selected applicants by donation to ESCT.
Two ‘Young Talent Awards’ were presented to French applicants through the French Council of Shopping Centers (CNCC) on 17 June 2014.

Donation to Alp Alkas ICSC Foundation Scholarship Fund
ESCT’s Vice Chairman, Bertrand Courtois-Suffit joined Norris Eber the ICSC Foundation Chairman and Mike Kercheval at the ICSC European Conference in Istanbul on April 2 to present a cheque for $14,000 to Avi Alkas for the ‘Alp Alkas Retail Real Estate Centre’.
The funds were collected from the ICSC membership worldwide in response to the untimely death of Alp on 5 November 2012. The ‘Alp Alkas ICSC Foundation Scholarship Fund’ will support worthy students to attend the Center’s modules in the Certificate Programme.
ICSC Europe pays tribute to Europe Shopping Centre Pioneer
London, UK, 17 December 2013. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Europe has today paid tribute to one of the most influential pioneers of the European Shopping Centre Industry. Charles Joye died in 2008 but his impact is still felt across the sector today.
International retailers sign up for ICSC Property School
For the first time, employees of international retailers H&M and Desigual are studying at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) European Retail Property School, previously almost exclusively attended by young professionals from retail real estate developers and shopping centre management companies.
ESCT sponsored 19 students from different companies and countries to attend the Property School. The Honorary Treasurer and Trustee of ESCT, Derek Barker, was invited to give the MasterClass session.
Derek Barker is a well known architect with a vast international experience and is Managing Director of Haskoll Architects and Designers based in London and Beijing. Derek is a member of the ICSC Global Shopping Centre Awards Jury and his talk summarised global design trends in the industry and how they connected with his work. He is a past Chair of the ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards program and previous member of the Advisory Board.
